Be lucky!
I regularly count myself lucky in so many ways and this Christmas was no different. Firstly, because I was invited once again to spend Christmas with friends, this year on the winter sunshiny Algarve. Secondly, because I happily flew from Gatwick Airport on the first ‘normal service’ afternoon following the drone disruptions. So not only did I actually ‘get away from it all’, literally, but like many people, I have also enjoyed a welcome break from the misery of UK politics and Brexit and all the other worldwide dramas of Trump and Putin and Yemen and Saudi and impending climate catastrophes, etc. Not listening or scrolling through the news has been an escapist treat. And one I intend to hold tight to until real life returns on January 2nd, 2019. Meanwhile, I will continue to enjoy the company of friends and family and take time to go out walking, to do some comforting cooking, to read my book for a change and generally think myself lucky again and again.
Wishing you a happy and healthy – and lucky - New Year!
